| Ten years ago I started something that had a dramatic impact on my business and my life... I created the Entrepreneurs-Journey.com Podcast. My podcast launched before there were smartphones. Back then you transferred a podcast MP3 from your computer to your iPod via a cable. There were no apps on mobile phones with mobile broadband streaming, or dedicated iTunes categories to support podcasting. You simply published your MP3s and hoped people would find them via Google search. Today podcasting is HUGE. Many people you know well online got their big break from podcasting in the last few years. My podcast has been more a case of slow and steady wins the race. I gradually crossed over 1 million downloads, but I certainly never kept a regular schedule like a daily or weekly show. It was just something I did for fun to start with. Over the years though I've been surprised how my podcast interviews have impacted people. Countless times I've met people in person and they explain how they listen to my show, or how my interviews inspired them to first get started online. I've also been impressed by how often my podcast brings buyers to my business. The connection made through audio is a key trust building tool that leads people to purchase my training programs. - My first ever podcast was recorded with an iRiver portable MP3 player, at the time a direct competitor to the iPod (so does that make it a 'Rivercast'?)
