Hey There, True to the subject line, this email is not about SEO, however, there is some SEO goodness coming - and I wanted to give you a heads up about it. I'm working on a new, big, SEO case study. I've done a handful of these in the past but since SEO changes so frequently - I thought it was time for a more recent, updated version. As a mailing list subscriber, you'll get early access to the case study and I'll be sharing more data with you than what I share publicly in the blog post. Stay tuned, I plan to send over the early version (for you) next week. Today I wanted to mention a new project I just (soft) launched, that doesn't have anything to do with SEO, but has large SEO implications (which is why I'm sharing it). Be prepared, this email is long... There's a good chance you and I have never met in person, so you may not know that I have near debilitating ADHD. I've put a lot of energy into learning how to focus and get shit done, but I do still fall victim to shiny object syndrome now and again. Over the holiday season at the end of 2016 one of my business partners and I were reviewing the year-end financials. And during our conversation he quoted some smart person who once said "it's important to look in the rearview mirror every now and then, if you only ever focus on the horizon you'll never see what you accomplished." I really appreciate what this means, and it caused me to realize that I reigning in my ADHD didn't come by happen stance, but from using tools that I've learned about or been introduced to over my life as an entrepreneur. I began to realize that these tools have not only allowed me to function with ADHD, but to get more done than most people - and a lot more. In any given day I get 3-5 big tasks done, and a dozen smaller ones. When I say big tasks I mean like planning entire marketing campaigns, or writing a full strategy brief from start to finish. I'm not saying this to boast, but more so to demonstrate that ADD (and in my case ADHD) can be a huge advantage if you learn how to manage it, and put it to work. I began writing down the tools I use on a daily base and strategies I've embraced to stay focused and productive. Over the course of a few days the list got pretty long, and before I knew it I had 30 some pages of focus and productivity strategies. The nuance here is that these aren't just tips for being productive, there's literally thousands of those. These are strategies explicitly for leveraging your ADD (or ADHD) to CRUSH tasks, not get burned out, and turn on your innate creativity. As I tend to do, I took all of this content and decided to package it up into a website. To be honest I also got a bit distracted and tried to create a record of all the websites I've ever created... I got north of 500 and gave up :) How does this relate to SEO? Well, while this new website has nothing to do with SEO, I'm still going to be using SEO as core traffic channel... because, why not? So I've completed keyword research, prioritized my term priorities, created some initial core evergreen content, and am going to start attacking a handful of ~20,000 MSV keywords - and I want to bring you along for the ride. I'll be keeping track of the keywords, rankings, content creation schedule (and strategy for developing my \on-page SEO requirements), and how I'm building links. I'll be writing about all of it, but only via email to you - I don't plan to publish any of this publicly. So if you go look, right now the site has NO links (which I plan to fix this week by at least linking to it from a few of my other sites), no social shares, and pretty much ZERO credibility in the space. You can go check it out here: ADDHero.com Also if you have a moment, I'd love any feedback you're willing to share on the design, positioning, or even the content I've spun up and published thus far. Good or bad, I value your feedback. Stay tuned for more SEO goodness coming soon. To your high rankings, Nick P.S. - Are you an Ecommerce professional?
