4 random things to check out today...

Hope your day is going well! Here are a few things for today... 1. Got a veggie garden? I created a BIG garden this year and I have been loving it. Our family basically eats a salad a day and we have been eating them out of our garden for the last couple months. Here is a little peek:

And I think I found my favorite fertilizer ever. It is not cheap at all, but it is all-natural and really seems to work well. Oh and to offset that here are some money-saving gardening tips. 2. Budgeting challenges My favorite budgeting software has had some issues with importing and losing some transactions. I still like it and use it, but of all the years I have been writing about personal finance, nothing comes close to the simplicity of the good 'ol envelope budgeting system. I am tempted to go back to that. 3. My new hobby I am the chef in the house and one of my biggest joys in life is good food. So, I decided to get my first smoker and am a complete newby to smoking meat. If you have any amazing recipes or tips, definitely pass them along! 4. 10 FREE date ideas your wife will love Now that we have a newborn again, we are kicking ourselves for taking our weekly date-nights for granted. And honestly we often just skipped them because "something came up". As someone who is married (and wants to stay that way) I have learned that investing time in my marriage is ALWAYS time well spent. So, if you are married, do yourself a favor and schedule a weekly date night - and stick with it! Here are a few ideas to get you started. What about you? Got anything interesting to share?
