The Best Email (Personal & Business) Services 2021 (TL;DR)

Posted: 09 Jan 2021 04:01 AM PST

Whether you’re an artist, or a professional, or a small business owner, or a corporate, email is still one of the best (and popular) ways to communicate over the internet. There are a variety of email services (both free and paid) on the web but selecting one can be confusing due to features and pricing variation. So here are some of the best email services that you can consider in 2021.

Free Email (@gmail.com, @outlook.com, @yahoo.com)

  1. Gmail – The web’s most popular and powerful email service with 15 GB of free storage.
  2. Outlook (previously Hotmail) – Outlook.com gives you 15 GB of free storage and supports most of the features available at Gmail. However, if you are a Gmail ninja then you may find that some of your favorite Gmail features are missing on Outlook.com.
  3. Yahoo Mail – Yahoo offers a free 1 TB storage for your inbox. But if you compare Yahoo Mail with Gmail or Outlook.com, you will see that most of the advanced features are either missing or is part of Yahoo Mail Pro (costs $3.49/month).
  4. iCloud Mail – The best thing about iCloud Mail must be its email alias feature. Otherwise, iCloud offers 5 GB storage (which is shared across email, cloud, photos, backup, etc.) and it’s good only for an @icloud.com email address with all the basic features that you would expect from a webmail service.
  5. AOL – Only if you do not like the Big Four.

Business Email (@your-name.com, @your-company.com)

  1. Google Workplace (previously GSuite) – If you want to enjoy all the features of Gmail then go for Google Workplace. Because no other email service matches Gmail when it comes to its advanced features.
  2. Microsoft 365 (previously Office 365) – If you are an Outlook lover then go for Microsoft 365. It’s a complete productivity suite with Office apps + 1 TB of OneDrive storage per user.
  3. Zoho Mail
  4. GoDaddy
  5. Namecheap
  6. ProtonMail
  7. Mail
  8. Hushmail

The Best Cloud Storage (Free & Premium) Services 2021 (TL;DR)

Posted: 09 Jan 2021 12:41 AM PST

If you are still using your computer hard drive, or a flash drive, or your external hard drive as your primary storage, then you need to level up. It’s 2021 and you all (probably) have superior internet connectivity than 10 years ago. So here are some of the best cloud storage services in 2021.

  1. Dropbox – It’s the most reliable and feature rich cloud storage service out there. But there’s a catch, the free storage is limited to just 2 GB. However, you can get some free bonus storage by completing some simple tasks.
  2. Microsoft OneDrive – If you are using a Windows PC and needs A LOT of storage then OneDrive is the best option for you. The basic plan gives you a free storage of 5 GB only, but you can opt for a paid plan to upgrade the storage to 100 GB. And if you buy Microsoft 365, then your OneDrive storage will be upgraded from 5 GB to 6 TB (1 TB x 6 users). Also, as a benefit of your Microsoft 365 Family or Microsoft 365 Personal subscription, you can create a personalized email address that’s associated with your Outlook.com mailbox. For example, yourname@example.com.
  3. Google Drive – If you are using A LOT of Google products and services and owns an Android phone then Google Drive is the best option for you. The basic plan gives you 15 GB of free storage and if you buy Google One then your Google Drive storage will be upgraded to 100 GB.
  4. iCloud Drive – If you are using a Mac and/or iPhone then iCloud Drive is the one for you. The basic plan gives you 5 GB of free storage and the upgrades starts at around $12 per year for 50 GB storage.
  5. Amazon Drive – Only if you are Amazon lover – the basic plan gets you 5 GB of free storage for your photos and videos. And Amazon Prime members get unlimited photo storage plus 5 GB video storage.
  6. Box – Only if you do not like Dropbox and the Big Four. The free plan gives you 10 GB storage – but with 250 MB file upload limit. And the paid plans are expensive as it starts at around $10 per month for 100 GB storage.
